Hackmanite Meaning and Properties

Hackmanite is a translucent variety of Sodalite, a chloric sodium aluminum silicate, which exhibits tenebrescence or reverses photochromism, whereby the color of the minerals changes when exposed to sunlight.

When hackmanite from Mont Saint-Hilaire (Quebec) or Ilímaussaq (Greenland) is freshly quarried, it is generally pale to deep violet but the color fades quickly to greyish or greenish white. Conversely, hackmanite from Afghanistan and the Myanmar Republic (Burma) starts off creamy white but develops a violet to pinkred color in sunlight. If left in a dark environment for some time, the violet will fade again. Tenebrescence is accelerated by the use of longwave or, particularly, shortwave ultraviolet light. Much sodalite will also fluoresce a patchy orange under UV light.

Hackmanite: Meanings, Benefits and Properties

The frequency of Hackmanite connects to the third eye and crown chakras, activating these chakras and allowing one to follow one’s intuitive “prompts” so that one is able to “know” and “see” the rightness of situations.

Hackmanite helps one to enter a state of consciousness to bring inner calm, stillness and inner peace to one’s being, and thus aids with soothing Emotional Issues and with stress.

Hackmanite protects and energizes one’s etheric body, detecting and helping with the release of energetic cords and attachments from others and thus can change the energies between people to be more balanced.
